This training is designed to equip mental health providers and educators with the knowledge and tools to address these pressing issues. Our Presenters

Susan Ward, MS (she/her)

Suicide Prevention Coordinator
Susan has worked for NAMI NH since June 2021 and is a ConnectTM Suicide Prevention Trainer, providing training to different community sectors throughout New Hampshire. Susan oversees the Garrett Lee Smith Grant in three NH regions focusing on suicide prevention for youth and young adults.  Susan also serves on the PFLAG NH board and is a support group facilitator for the Seacoast Region. Her past experiences include teaching first grade and managing a career development center at a college for students with learning disabilities.

Jace Troie (he/his)

Community Engagement Coordinator

Jace began volunteering with NAMI New Hampshire in 2018 through the In Our Own Voice program, and traveled the state telling his story about how mental illness impacted his family, him personally, and finding hope after surviving suicide. In 2020, he was the youngest person ever elected to be on NAMI NH’s Board of Directors – only resigning in 2022 to accept a full-time position with NAMI NH as their DEI & Program Assistant. Jace has previously held positions in the drug prevention, child-care, and education sectors. He is a proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community and appreciates how his previous roles and lived experience help him support the mental wellness of those in NH.
